Finally got to visit Redwood National Forest!! This summer some friends of mine and I, booked an Airbnb, (got a great deal) and hit the road.
We drove I-80 almost the whole way, stopping in Reno, NV for the night at a really cool resort that had a floating golf range. Very cool!
We explored Trinidad, Eureka, and two separate Redwood sights, including Fern Canyon and Avenue of the giants.
The road alone the forest was dark and shady. We went at a good time of day because the smallish highway wasn’t too terribly congested.
Over all it was a really great trip. I would love to go back and explore some of the trails in the park where the Founder’s Grove was located. We did the smallish museum walk, but there were a few more around the area.
Our home was in Mckinnleyville, right off of Clam Beach. There was a really cool campground right off the beach that I would definitely camp at if I ever do the whole entire California Scenic Highway route, like I hope to!
We stopped along the way and checked out Patrick’s Point, Trinidad, and Eureka. I’m so glad we did. Both towns were quaint.
Such a great trip! Cannot wait to visit California again.
